Great airport, great people!!!
Not a pilot but wish I was. Retired 70 yr young and enjoy good food with friends as well. It is all there at littlle known Peach State Airport. It is just another of many grass strips on south side of Atlanta Hartsfield traffic, BUT... it also has the Barnstormers Grill. Full fresh salad bar and top class food from burgers to blackened wild caught salmon. Cute and friendly young ladies keep your glass full as the yarns get spun. Had a table of characters who had flown in vintage double wingers from Tallahassee, Charlotte, Kingsport and Birningham at next table yestertday, Taxied right up to front door(cars park out back). Special place.
I love this small airport because it reminds me of when I was a small kid growing up with my Grandaddy here at Cedartown Airport. Just the old 70's & 80's atmosphere with all the OLD vintage airplanes in the hangers and grass strip. Which Cedartown's is a asphalt runway. I went down a couple years ago to talk to a guy about fixing a wing on a friends PT-17 Super Stearman. If you need something on a airplane restored like it was when it was new this is the place to take it to.
